Original Item: Only One Set Available. Now this is a rare, lovely condition WWI “Summer White” field uniform set as worn by a junior enlisted soldier during WWI. This is the type of uniform that would have been worn in a desert/hot environment. The long-standing white infantry uniforms were replaced in the later half of the 19th century with dark blue tunics, which in turn were replaced by the pike gray M1908 uniform used in the initial stages of World War I, though white uniforms were still being worn. In September 1915, field gray was adopted as the new official uniform color. As the KuK Army was plagued with supply shortages, when the new Field-gray uniforms were first introduced, remaining stocks of the preexisting Pike-gray uniforms remained in use alongside the newer Feldgrau model.

The uniform set is in wonderful condition and does show signs of honest field wear. There is staining present on all items which is expected when it comes to all white garments and uniforms. The uniform set appears to be complete with all zinc buttons which no longer retains their original finish. The red collar tabs have a single star on each side indicating a lower enlisted rank. The trousers are in similar condition to the tunic with honest wear present and staining. The field cap is in wonderful condition and now presents itself with a lovely aged white/beige appearance and has no extensive damage present other than cracking in the faux leather sweatband.
