Presented here a rare piece from COMME DES GARCONS COMME DES GARCONS, a pair of navy cotton wide leg trousers with yellow hi-vis vinyl panels running down the sides. The hi vis side stripes are a motif revisited by Rei Kawakubo several times across a number of COMME DES GARCONS lines (and reflects her general interest in unorthodox materials), and it is fitting that a version be produced as part of the COMME DES GARCONS COMME DES GARCONS line of classics and basics. In addition to the hi vis stripes, the trousers have a standard fly front, two slash pockets at the side seams, and two buttoned flap pockets at the reverse. The trousers have a wide leg cut, and they hang interestingly as a result of the contrast between the softness of the cotton body and stiffness of the vinyl applique.
It should be noted that there is significant fading and several marks to the trousers from wear (see pictures).
