Vintage crazy quilt quote. Incredible piece! Entirely hand made, one of a kind, likely in the 1970s from pieces of then-vintage 1930s and 40s fabrics. It may have also previously been a 1930s/40s quilt that was made into a coat in the 70s. The bright green lining however, is an older silk so perhaps the coat was started in the 40s and finished in the 70s? We'll probably never know but what we DO know is that this coat is amazing!

Usually when we find these they are oversized, robe or kimono like constructions so finding a fitted one with puffed sleeves is particularly rare! Jacket is made from dozens of brightly colored vintage velvets and silk with hand embroidered details in addition to machine stitched (but hand applied) appliqués. We especially love the extra long sleeves with the puffed shoulders! 

Excellent vintage condition. There are no closures at all and we added the black velvet sash that will be included with purchase.
